Hyderabad: Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has instructed senior officials to tour districts to assess the Covid-19 situation at the ground level and also examine measures implemented to contain the spread of coronavirus.
The CM held a high-level review meeting on Covid-19 at Pragathi Bhavan here on Tuesday. The situation in Hyderabad and other areas was also reviewed.
It was decided at the meeting that senior officials should tour the districts and monitor the situation personally.
Following a directive from the CM, chief secretary Somesh Kumar, DGP M Mahendar Reddy, medical and health special chief secretary Shanti Kumari will tour Suryapet, Gadwal and Vikarabad districts.
The government appointed deputy director of municipal adminsitration department G Venugopal Reddy as officer on special duty of Suryapet. Over 40 Covid-19 cases have been reported from the district.
Venugopal, who had worked as a municipal commissioner in Khammam and Karimnagar, has been asked to take over immediately.
